Invest in Youth Campaign2/7/2012"Going to Camp Crosley has changed my life! I now have a direction and purpose in life. I know what I want to do; that is to change the lives of kids!"-Dayelle, former Crosley Camper, College Graduate, Camp Crosley counselorWe live in changing times, when being a kid has never been more challenging. Each day, youth and teens face great risks: substance abuse, dropping out of school, obesity, and peer pressure. Parents are stretched to the breaking point, balancing many commitments. More than ever, kids need opportunities to lead healthy lives and connect with adults who care about them. Recent research suggests that beyond food and shelter, today's young people need three ingredients for healthy development: safe places, caring adults, and positive activities. These critical ingredients provide a positive foundation for healthy development and encourage youth to succeed in school, value diversity, maintain good health, and make good choices. Nowhere does Camp Crosley have a greater impact than on the life of a child. Our programs shape the lives of children with healthy activities, skill building and character development. Camp Crosley provides teens with a safe place to socialize and learn leadership skills with positive role models. Working parents are assured of safe, supervised care of their children. Our pledge is to never turn away a child from our programs because of inability to pay. Often, those are the kids who need us most and the number continues to grow. If a child is unable to pay for camp, financial assistance in the form of scholarships are provided by generous donors of the Invest in Youth Campaign. Your gift makes a difference --- 100 percent of every dollar we raise in our annual Invest in Youth Campaign goes directly to financial assistance scholarships. Last year, over 450 children and families received financial assistance from our Invest in Youth campaign. Help Camp Crosley continue its important work with the children and teens in our community.
