Deep Water Swim Tests

The deep water test is a water confidence test given to all campers, staff, volunteers, and community use participants who wish to swim beyond the shallow swimming area. The test is normally given to campers and staff the day they arrive with their cabin group. People who pass the deep water tests may participate in the following:

Red: water-skiing, sailing, Blobbing, and all activities included with the Yellow swim area.

Yellow: can swim in the yellow area, and during a supervised activity with a lifeguard in the water, may use the aqua jump while wearing a life jacket, canoe, and kayak.

The following tests will be used to determine swimming ability:

Red - 5 lengths of the enclosed swimming area (approximately 80-100 meters) using at least two different strokes. Tread water for 2 minutes.

Yellow - No swimming ability required.
