Greetings Camp Crosley Families

After numerous, comprehensive conversations and deliberate planning, we have decided to move forward with camp this summer!  Since 1915, Camp Crosley has been transforming the shyest campers into confident leaders, turning strangers into instant friends and changing barriers into successes.   Through activities such as canoeing, archery and horseback riding, campers gain confidence as they build newly acquired skills.  At Camp Crosley, campers form lifelong friendships, an appreciation of nature and a sense of self and community.  This purpose is no different in 2020.  Thus, in order to prepare for this summer, Camp Crosley is taking measures, both operationally and medically, to proceed safely in response to COVID-19.

First and foremost, we will continue to rely on expert guidance provided by state and local government and health professionals, including the CDC, with the goal of providing a safe and fun environment for campers and staff.  We are in regular communication with our accrediting organizations, American Camp Association and Association of Camp Nursing, to implement best practices for this summer.

We believe kids will need the opportunity to get outside, interact with friends and have fun in what could be one of the most impactful summers we have ever seen.   There is incredible potential for deeper connection and self growth.  We also believe there needs to be changes and new guidelines in place to ensure the safest summer experience possible for all.

Camp Crosley will be different this summer.  There will be a significant reduction in campers per week, groups and cabin occupancy will be smaller in size and will be traveling together during the entire time at camp.  The camp week will end on Friday, allowing us more time to sanitize for the next week, and for our staff to get their needed rest.  Our cleaning and sanitizing will increase in frequency for all areas of camp.   Our dining hall will be quieter as we plan for multiple shifts and meals will be served plated by the kitchen staff.   In light of this, it is important you understand our efforts to manage everyone’s health and safety so you can make an informed choice.

Ultimately, the choice for your child to attend a week at Camp Crosley is a personal one and you are in control of that decision.  We also understand every family is being impacted differently by this pandemic and that you, as a parent, know what is best for your child.   We want you to understand the rigorous efforts Camp Crosley is taking toward protecting the health of campers and staff in order for you to make the best decision for your family.  In our desire to serve you well, if you choose not to send your child to camp, we want to provide you with three options for your camper’s registration fees.

  1. Transfer:  Reserve your spot for the summer of 2021 with this year’s summer prices.
  2. Invest:   Donate a portion or all of your camp registration fees to Camp Crosley.
  3. Refund:   Receive a full refund from this year’s registration.

We hope to see you this summer, but if we do not, know that this is only goodnight and not goodbye!
