Overnight Camp Programs

Camp Crosley’s overnight camps are by far the most popular choice for the iconic summer camp experience. Our overnight camps are for kids ages 7-15. We separate our overnight campers into four groups, Pathfinders (ages 7-8), Explorers (ages 9-10), Trailblazers (ages 11-12), and Challengers (ages 13-15). Each group is met with age-appropriate activities, new opportunities, and new friends!

Pathfinders (Ages 7-8)

Pathfinders are our youngest group of campers. Realizing the importance of playing hard and getting enough sleep, we have an easier schedule and an earlier bedtime. Campers are here for one full week. During that time, they are participating in activities that are designed for their age group. Pathfinders are placed in villages with other campers their age, along with a minimum of two trained counselors

Explorers (Ages 9-10)

The Explorers program is designed for children ages 9 and 10. This age knows how to make everything fun – young enough to still be silly, but old enough to crave adventure and push limits. We go all out in making this a week for building self-confidence in their ability to try new things, as well as connect with others. Each cabin will host 10-12 campers, and a minimum of two trained counselors.

Trailblazers (Ages 11-12)

The Trailblazer’s program is designed for children ages 11 and 12. We know kids at this age need a place to feel understood and connected. Through epic, goal-oriented activities, campers will gain a sense of belonging and an appreciation for community.

Challengers (Ages 13-15)

The Challengers program is designed for children ages 13 through 15. We understand that as teens become more independent, they face more challenges and distractions than ever before. We help campers recapture the simple joys of being outside and building personal connections. They think they are ready to grow up, but it only takes one serious water balloon fight to realize they still want to be kids.

Skills Clinics

There are numerous skill clinics available to each and every camper. Campers will be traveling with their age group and participating in various adventure areas. Each adventure area has a focus and list of certain activities that each camper will decide when they are rotating to each adventure area. Campers will select five activities and our team will assign them three activities. Campers ages 9+ have the opportunity to swap out one of the skills clinics for an activity add-on if was ordered in advance.

Crosley Cares

Safety is the cornerstone of what we do at Camp Crosley. Our safety standards are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the American Camp Association (ACA). We continue to be accredited through the ACA.

Your child’s safety is our number one priority while they attend Camp Crosley. While Camp Crosley cannot fully eliminate the possibility of a child becoming ill or getting injured while at camp, we do recognize that before we welcome any campers, we must ensure that it is safe and secure environment for the children to learn and grow. Every session is staffed by a licensed, on-site nurse who stays at our health center during that time. In addition, Camp Crosley has access to ambulance services in a matter of minutes in the nearby city of North Webster, IN.

At Camp Crosley, our goal is to treat your child as one of our own. One of the ways we strive to do this is by taking a comprehensive approach to your child’s health and wellness. We do this by performing regular hygiene checks, medication dispensation, allergy management plans, and a proactive and preventative approach to sanitizing and disease control. In addition to this, we also place a strong emphasis on the “Big Five”.

• Hand washing
• Hydration
• Nutrition
• Rest
• Sun protection

At Camp Crosley, it is our goal to create a secure environment for your child. Camp Crosley goes to great lengths to ensure that our staff is properly screened during the application process. Once they pass screening process, they are thoroughly trained to ensure your child is surrounded by the finest young role models that the country has to offer.Camp Crosley is highly selective during the interview process and only selects about 100 staff for the summer. Each staff members are required to pass or acquire the following:

  • CRP and First-aid Certification
  • Wrangler Certification through the American Horsemanship Association
  • Lifeguards are certified through the YMCA Lifeguarding program
  • Boat drivers/waterski instructors are certified through Waterski Works
  • Ropes course staff are certified through an ACCT vendor
  • Target sports instructors attend the Civilian Marksmanship Program

“Live for Others” is Camp Crosley’s guiding motto, and our staff are the heart of everything we do. We invest significant time and care into recruiting and hiring exceptional American and international staff who model our values and put camper safety first. Before camp begins, all staff complete reference checks, background screenings, First Aid and CPR training, specialty certifications, and an extensive summer staff training program. Your child’s safety is always our highest priority.

  • Bullying is not tolerated, and every camper is welcomed with unconditional acceptance
  • Campers sleep in cabins with two trained adult counselors
  • Campers are grouped by age, with one cabinmate within a one-year age difference available by request each week

Honor Traits & Honor Camper

Camp Crosley’s Honor Camper tradition began with our first and longest-serving director, Herbert Pettijohn. He identified eight character traits he hoped every camper would value and strive toward: reverent, trustworthy, dependable, loyal, sportsmanlike, helpful, clean, and considerate. During the opening campfire, campers are challenged to choose one trait to focus on throughout the week. At the end of each session, two campers are recognized as Honor Campers for best living out these values.

On Friday evenings, cabins come together for the Honor Bead ceremony to reflect on their week at camp. Each camper selects a bead representing the trait they want to continue working on during the year. Together, cabins create bead bracelets, and every camper takes their bracelet home as a meaningful reminder of their personal goal and growth.

What to Bring

Packing for camp is an important part of preparing your camper for a successful and enjoyable week at Camp Crosley. Bringing the right clothing, bedding, and personal items helps campers feel comfortable, confident, and ready to participate in every activity. Below, you will find helpful guidance on appropriate clothing, bedding and linen recommendations, and information about adding funds for the camp store so your camper is fully prepared from day one.

Cabin Life

Cabin life is at the heart of the Camp Crosley experience. It is where friendships are formed, laughter echoes late into the evening, and campers begin to feel at home. Each cabin provides a safe, welcoming space where campers grow in independence while being supported by trained counselors and surrounded by their peers.
